We’ve got you.
-
SOALS is designed for teens ages 13–18 who are interested in exploring their creativity, developing new skills, and connecting with other young people who share their interests.
-
Not at all! SOALS welcomes teens at every stage of their creative journey, whether they're just getting started or already working on ambitious projects.
All they need is curiosity, an open mind, and a willingness to explore. Our mentors meet each member where they are and help them grow at their own pace.
-
SOALS meets online in small-group sessions led by professional writers and creative mentors.
Each session creates space for members to work on their own projects, exchange ideas, share their work, and receive thoughtful feedback and encouragement.
Our goal is to create an environment that's both productive and enjoyable, where teens feel supported and inspired to keep creating.
-
SOALS sessions are facilitated by professional writers, educators, and creative mentors who care deeply about helping young people discover their voices and develop their potential.
Our mentors provide guidance, constructive feedback, and encouragement while creating a welcoming space where every member feels valued.
You can learn more about our team on our About page.
-
Absolutely not. SOALS is designed to fit into your teen's life, not become another obligation.
Members are welcome to attend as many or as few sessions as they'd like. We encourage regular participation to build momentum and relationships, but there's no minimum attendance requirement.
-
Yes. One SOALS membership includes access to both clubs and all regularly scheduled sessions.
Members can focus on whichever club best suits their interests, or move between the two as their creative projects and passions evolve.
-
Yes. Both clubs are open to all SOALS members, regardless of their creative interests or experience.
Writers are welcome to bring their projects to Creators Club, just as artists, filmmakers, and other creators are welcome to join Writing Club.
The clubs offer different environments for creative exploration, but they're part of the same community. Members are encouraged to participate in whichever sessions fit their schedules and inspire them!
-
Whatever excites them.
In Writing Club, members work on everything from short stories, poetry, and essays to screenplays, online publications, and even their debut novels.
In Creators Club, the possibilities expand to visual art, filmmaking, digital media, music, podcasting, design, and even entrepreneurial ideas.
Whether they're starting something new or developing a project they've been passionate about for years, SOALS provides the time, mentorship, and supportive community to help young people bring their ideas to life.
-
We believe that the creative process helps young people develop skills that extend far beyond any one project.
Through SOALS, members have opportunities to build a portfolio of original work, strengthen their communication and critical thinking skills, develop creative confidence, and learn how to bring their ideas to life.
Whether they're preparing for college, exploring a creative career, or simply discovering what they're passionate about, SOALS provides a foundation of skills, experiences, and relationships that can serve them for years to come.
-
SOALS membership is $75 per month, which includes full access to Writing Club, Creators Club, and all regularly scheduled live sessions.
Membership is billed monthly, with no long-term commitment. You can cancel or pause your membership whenever you need to.
